Is there air conditioning at Casa Mimosa?
There are not many other places in the world where it is neither too hot nor too cold. That’s why, among other reasons, these islands are called Las Afortunadas (the lucky ones). While everyone in the Canaries complains about the heat, the inhabitants of most of the Spanish mainland would be happy about the cooler weather. You will rarely find more than 30°C in the Agaete Valley. If you do, there are many ways to combat the heat. The first and most obvious is the swimming pool, of course. But you don’t have to get wet to stay cool at Casa Mimosa. The beautiful Canarian porch provides plenty of shade on the terrace, allowing you to cool off. In the cooler hours of the day, keep the windows open so that the air circulates and the heat does not stagnate. During the hottest hours of the day, close the windows to keep the air cool. A fan is available for guests.
Does the house have heating?
The winters in Agaete, with minimum temperatures of 15°C, are so mild that I don’t think it makes sense to heat the house. I recommend that you open the windows during the day to keep the house warm and close them as soon as the sun goes down so that it doesn’t get cold.
How many people can stay at Casa Mimosa?
Casa Mimosa can accommodate up to four people.
How do I get to Casa Mimosa?
Depending on whether you arrive on the island by plane or by boat, there are different options which we have detailed on the page “How to get to Casa Mimosa“.
Can I stay at Casa Mimosa without renting a car?
Most people who are used to owning a car will find it inconvenient to do without a car when staying at Casa Mimosa. But if you travel light and like to walk, as I do, it is perfectly feasible. The village of Agaete is only three kilometres away (who doesn’t walk 3 km on a daily basis?) and Puerto de las Nieves is 4.5 km away. To visit other places on the island it is more convenient to do so by car, but the guaguas (buses) also reach all the villages.
If the purpose of your visit is hiking, from Casa Mimosa you have many routes to choose from.
Is there parking at Casa Mimosa?
In front of the house there is always a place to park your car. La Suerte is a very quiet area where there is no passing traffic.
Can I work remotely from Casa Mimosa?
Of course you can! We have contracted fibre optic wifi with a capacity of 1 GB precisely for those guests who wish to do remote work in the house. In fact, we think it’s an idyllic place to work. There is nothing more invigorating than a dip in the sea before or after work. Or a walk in the Valley in winter.
Can I have a party at Casa Mimosa?
Out of respect for the neighbours, parties are not allowed in the house.
